Tobacco Rustic Shaving Soap – Vegan Shave Soap with Ultra-Slick Lather

WSP Tobacco is a wonderful straight forward journey into this classic shaving scent. The Rustic lather is creamy, slick and hydrating. No hesitation needed if contemplating this one!

I've been buying the tobacco-scented vegan shaving soap for a few years now.

Using this soap is a pleasurable ritual. The lather is thick, and the scent is unique and lovely. After shaving, I wipe the soap off my face rather than wash it off, so that I can enjoy the scent for longer. A tin of soap also lasts for months. Being a vegan, I also enjoy this soap because it doesn't contain any animal products.

Rather than keep the soap in the tin, I ritually decant it into a wooden bowl that used to hold my previous favorite, which was by Crabtree & Evelyn, except they stopped making it.

I hope that WSP keeps making this for many years to come. This is a life-long love affair.

I bought several sample products to try out, and went for it with a large tin of the Tobacco shave soap. This is to date, one of the best soaps I have used, and I've been through a few. I have a light beard, and soft skin, which for me means I can only use the DE Razor after two days growth. I try not to shave on the weekends, so I can enjoy a super smooth shave come Monday morning. It's a treat!

The method Lee uses to load his brush works well on all the soaps I've tried, but with this soap, it might take a little longer coming straight and flat out of the tin. But, once the brush is loaded up properly, you're in for a treat. The lather is super-rich and creamy-dense, and provides a beautiful glide. I don't need a reload when doing my typical two-step "with" then "against" routine. The richness is still in the brush. I can even pull cream from the brush for touch up areas.

Smells fantastic, and I can hardly wait to try some of the other scents...which could be awhile, being as how long this stuff lasts.

I had the pleasure of witnessing the owner's passion for his products when I received a replacement tin of Tobacco scented shave soap. I am a huge fan of WS Products and have been using many over the last couple of years. Recently, I ordered and received a replacement tin of Tobacco and realized it didn't shave the same as all the other soaps I have used in the past. With a couple email exchanges and expressed passion for excellence, a replacement tin arrived in the mail with explanation and I was never happier. Just received tin of tobacco scented shave soap. Couldn’t wait to give it a spin. Easy lather. Great manly scent. Did a double lather shave and could not find any stubble. Beats my Old Bond Street soaps. Who’d have thought!! Waiting to see what my wife thinks of my new smell

I recently decided to take the plunge into wet shaving, and as I was blindly stumbling along the myriad of different shave products I came across Wet Shaving Products, and have completed my search. The soap is fantastic. It lather with just a handful of sweeps with a brush, it is incredibly rich and slick and I have had some of the best shaves of my life with it! And the scent is absolutely addicting! But I think the most impressive aspect of this company is the service. They are incredibly responsive, and genuinely care about customer satisfaction. I am definitely a customer for the long haul.

I've sampled a lot of different tobacco scents from many different soap makers - and this one smells the best hands down. It's a dry smell, and it lingers nicely but it's not overpowering. There's a hint of citrus in the background, not too strong, but enough to brighten up the scent overall and it comes through a bit later. It doesn't have a "thin" smell, so some guys might prefer it for winter (?) but I wear it all year long. Several friends have also commented on nice it smells.

All my soaps from WSP lather really, really well. I've yet to have a soap that doesn't - the exception being the Tallow tobacco, but that's sort of expected with tallow soaps anyway. Lathers relatively fast, too.

I'm strongly considering regularly stocking up on the tobacco handsoap too.

The only thing that could possibly make this soap better is making a version with bentonite clay, which works better on my skin, since my face is pretty sensitive.

Overall, this is my favorite scent, from Wet Shaving Products or elsewhere.

This was one of the first soaps I picked up when I started wet shaving, and I didn't know at the time the quality of product I was using! This stuff lathers very well and leaves a wonderful feeling post-shave. The scent is very warm, sweet, and rich, perfect for colder months. My only qualm is that parts of the tin (especially the lid) began to rust due to being in a wet environment. Since it's a soft soap, it was very easy to scoop out and press into a different container. Although having a proprietary tin was much more convenient, I did not want to risk any of the corrosion getting into the soap itself.

My first order from WSP included the Winter Spice Rustic Shave Soap and the same scent Aftershave, along with the Spruce Up Aftershave. The scents were fantastic! I also received a sample Barbershop Bar soap! The fragrance made me order Barbershop Shave soap, Pre-shave oil, and aftershave! With that order came a sample Tobacco Bar soap, which in turn caused me to order the Tobacco Fragrance set! I'm hooked! The performance of all products received is topnotch as well! Glad I found WSP.

Loving the Black Beard! Really great scent. I've tried the Tabacco too. They both are excellent. The Black Beard is bold but not overpowering. Stoked on the quality of these soaps. Good on the slickness and cushion. I'm looking forward to trying more. Cheers WSP!

I tried the Rustic Tobacco shave soap today for the first time (the soap came in a tin with a screw on lid). This soap is a great performer and one of the better soaps that I have tried, it rates right up there in the top 10 for me. The soap has a lot of slickness and cushion and it stays that way throughout the shave. This soap lathers up very easy, no effort at all and make great lather. The smell or scent is very mild (for my taste the scent could have been a little stronger). The scent is not a Tobacco scent like any other Tobacco scented soaps I have tried. It has more of a sweet very suttle cologne scent to it, hard to describe but very nice.

In summery,

The Rustic brand soap by WSP is a keeper for me. I give it a 9 out of 10 on over all performance. It gave me a great shave. I just wish the scent was a little stronger but loved the soap. I will be buying more of this brand soap in the future.

I highly recommend this soap brand to anyone wanting to try something new.

I use the tobacco, which is easy to load with a great scent that is not too strong.
I recently had a mixup with an order, it was resolved quickly and with no hassle.
I highly recommend WSP for anyone in need of shaving products, with their quality and customer support you cant go wrong.

Simply superb soap, very unique. The lather is amazing, thick and rich but best of all the lather lasts. I ordered this in tobacco and it is my favorite scent; it can be smelled all day, especially when coupled with the aftershave. It leaves my face feeling slick and nourished, not at all dry. One of the best shave soaps on the market and worth every penny, especially considering that you get quite a lot of product for the price. I'll definitely be a long time customer.

I ordered my first round of WSP soap via Etsy in the Tobacco scent a month or so ago. AMAZING! I've tried a number of soaps and creams but nothing came close to the lather the WSP's soap makes. Many shave soaps are very touchy on the lather. Too much water and its worthless. Too little and it drys on the face. WSP's soap is pretty much impossible to foul up. A few seconds of brush loading and then the lather just explodes in my mug. No need to reload, this stuff just keeps coming, more than enough for my three passes with the DE Feather blade. I've just ordered Blackbeard and the new Starbucks. Can't wait! Keep the good stuff coming, WSP. I'm a customer for life.

I spent a lot of time buying different shave soaps and creams from a variety of makers trying to find that one” go to” shave soap. When I got my first tins of WSP Rustic Shave soap, I ordered the Black Amber Vanilla and Christmas Spice (limited edition)... From the scent to the first few swirls of my brush, I was impressed. The shave was the best one I had experienced to date.

The lather whipped up fast and looked like cool whip on the end of the brush. It outperformed the well-known (and way more expensive) brands I had been using. Each one I own provides a slick, smooth, soft shave with great cushion each and every time regardless of using Badger, boar or synthetic brushes.

You can’t go wrong with these soaps and they will become a mainstay in your rotation.

I have added Tobacco, Marrakesh, Barbershop and Vetiver to my assortment since then and will be adding more without question.
