how to use it
Insert a standard double edge blade and assemble the three-piece razor securely before shaving. Wet the beard thoroughly, build a proper lather, and shave with short, controlled strokes.

The shave was great ... better than I expected since this was a blind buy. My only issue is the bottom of the handle is very rough. It feels sharp and could scratch my hand. It's as though the bottom of the handle was dragged across concrete and not filed down. Despite that, I still gave it 4 out of 5 stars.
Great razor. New to wet shaving so unsure of what exactly to expect but this razor is easy to use and not overly aggressive.

The silver 3 piece razor came in a nice black box that can be used as a travel case. It is of quality and feels good. The grip is great when shaving with wet hands. Worth the price! I like it. The free real manly tobacco ounce soap was an added plus.

Somewhat surprisingly, this inexpensive but well-designed and well-built razor has replaced my 1949 Gillette SuperSpeed as my daily shaver. I thought it would be good, just not THAT good! Thanks for the fine shavings, gentlemen.

Being a recent convert to the joys of the wet shave, I've been on a quest to find a workhorse DE safety razor. Objective achieved! Currently using the razor with Astra Platinum blades and having superior shaves. Out of the box the first thing I noticed is the weight of the razor. It's substantial and provides a nice balance. If you are looking for a genuine value, I can't recommend the El Grande enough. Do yourself a favor and grab one!

I used my new El Grande razor this morning for the second time. After adjusting the blade alignment I had a terrific shave. Much better than my expensive Merkur Futur.
I'll start by saying, I love this razor! This is my second DE safety razor and it has been awesome. I found that Feather, Persona stainless, and Gillette 7'Oclock blades work best in this razor for me. I get a smooth shave with minimum irritation. This is a high quality razor perfect for beginners. I love this razor and WSP products so much, I just ordered a beginning shaving set for my brother so he can experience the same joy I do using this razor and WSP soaps. Excellent razor. Been using it for a few months now. Tried to order a fancier DE razor but could not beat the El grande for comfort. Only issue is the blade can beome out of alignment with comb when you tighten it if you are not paying attention.
Compared to several other, more expensive razors, the El Grande is a superb value. The angle and rake are great. The weight and balance are near perfect. I especially like how easy it is to clean the blade with the large openings on the bottom.
This is my first safety razor and will tell you, this is the best shave I have ever had, the razor just glides across you face with ease, no nicks at all!, well worth the money which is very reasonable, love the way it handles and very Stylish, my face haven't felt this smooth since I was 16..REALLY!
Amazing razor. Even better than the renowned Merkur 34C. Med-agressive razor with just enough blade exposure and angle to give a close shave on 1st pass with no irritation (as long as you know how to shave with a DE razor). Feels great in the hand. Handle is longer and thicker and knurling is deeper than the 34C, allowing better control with wet hands, resulting in a cleaner and more comfortable shave. My 34C has taken a back seat to El Grande.
This is my first safety razor and I'm getting more used to it the more I use it. I like the finish. I highly recommend this razor!
I bought this razor a year or so ago and for some reason I just got around to using it for the first time a few days ago.It is very hefty and when you look at it ,it sorta makes you wanna back off and hesitate before using it. I was wondering just how aggressive it was. Well I used a feather blade and began my morning shave. It was as smooth as butter. Not aggressive at all. I have an average beard and have been shaving for over 50 years now and this razor never nicked , cut or burned my face at all. I really like it a lot. I would reccomend this razor for all the newbies and the seasoned shavers out there who want a super shave. The price can't be beat and the weight of the razor is very hefty and solid. It is very easy to hold on to and won't slip when wet at all.I wish that I had used this long before now and I owe WSP an apology for being so late with this review. Thank's for a Super Razor.

Are the razor blade tabs enclosed?
I'm sorry, but I do not know what you mean by razor blade tabs and being enclosed. If you're asking if there is a pack of blades, yes, there is supposed to a pack of blades included. Some older stock may not have a pack though.
Difference in shave with comb and plain (without)
An open comb razor is going to be better for longer stubble (ie, if you go a few days in between shaves). It is also more aggressive of an angle.
